Zachary (Zak) Okray

Zachary (Zak) Okray is a renewable energy and energy storage professional specializing in the development and delivery of large-scale energy infrastructure projects. As a Market Director for Energy Storage at Mortenson, he helps lead utility-scale battery energy storage initiatives from early-stage development through construction and commercial operation.

Zak brings more than a decade of experience delivering complex, large-scale projects across renewable energy, sports and entertainment, and emerging clean energy markets. Before transitioning into energy storage, he built a strong foundation in project management, leading major sports projects including the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Kansas State University’s Trointon Family Stadium and Buser Family Park in Manhattan, Kansas. His experience managing high-visibility, technically demanding builds informs his approach to energy storage delivery.

In his role as Market Director, Zak focuses on aligning technical expertise, emerging market insights, and collaborative partnerships to help customers advance reliable, future‑ready energy infrastructure. He is known for his collaborative leadership style, his ability to simplify complex technical challenges, and his commitment to ensuring projects meet performance expectations.

Outside of work, Zak enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family, including his two young children.
