Great Wolf Lodge awarded AZRE Real Estate Development (RED) Hospitality Project of the Year
Congratulations to the Great Wolf Lodge project for winning the Hospitality Project of the Year award!
The AZRE RED Awards – which are considered the Academy Awards of Arizona’s commercial real estate industry – honor the top brokers, architects, contractors, developers and projects. This year’s projects were some of the most impactful developments the state of Arizona has seen in this millennium.
As the first indoor waterpark in the state, Mortenson built the 350-room family boutique resort constructed on an 18-acre site, adjacent to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Talking Stick Entertainment District, also a Mortenson project. The fast-paced, complex construction project was completed in September 2019 and is the 18th Great Wolf Lodge resort in North America.
The new Great Wolf Lodge is truly a unique year-round family destination experience that supports the booming hospitality market in this tourism-focused state. The resort, designed by Gensler, has an 85,000 square foot indoor, heated water park with several water slides for kids of all ages, a wave pool and a lazy river. The Great Wolf Lodge also features a 27,000 square foot family entertainment center called the Great Wolf Adventure Park. It includes a ropes course, a climbing wall, mini golf, bowling and a live-action game called MagiQuest.
