Mortenson is helping create a greener, healthier Twin Cities through a three-year partnership with Minnesota United and Tree Trust, focused on expanding and diversifying the region’s urban tree canopy.

Now in the second year of our partnership, volunteers from the three organizations came together to plant 24 trees in a local park, building on Tree Trust’s 50-year legacy of planting and caring for trees throughout the Twin Cities.

"We have a strong relationship with Minnesota United. We’re both organizations that care deeply about the community and sustainability, and events like this are a perfect example of what we can do when we team up together,” said Graham Hanson, a Senior Environmental Manager at Mortenson. The partnership brings together three organizations with a shared commitment to strengthening communities and caring for the environment. Beyond the long-term impact the trees will have, the planting event gave volunteers an opportunity to see the results of their work take shape in real time.

My favorite part is seeing the energy around this event and seeing the trees we’ve planted standing up right in front of our eyes,” Hanson said. “We’re excited to make this kind of impact over and over again. We’re very proud of the partnership and look forward to what’s coming next."
