Our latest Leadership Series Study, “2016 Construction Owners Perspectives,” is now available to download. This year’s results are based on our comprehensive survey of the Construction Owners Association of America’s annual conference attendees and features insights that owners, facilities leaders and organizational executives will find valuable and informative.
This year, owners continued to focus on VDC and BIM, but also turned their attention to collaboration and project execution, including how to integrate alternative delivery methods.
Highlights include:
- 64% believe General Contractor involvement earlier leads to design intent to carry through.
- 50% see the value of using modified IDP contracts in major projects, but 69% see those agreements as complicated.
- Interest in using BIM and VDC as a facilities management tool increased from 58% in 2015 to 75% in 2016.
