Ministry Saint Clare’s Project Team Celebrates the Start of Multiple Projects on the Campus

Official Blessing/Groundbreaking Ceremony

Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital, part of Ascension in Weston, Wisconsin, held an official blessing/groundbreaking ceremony in early October on the 11th anniversary of the opening of the facility that Mortenson originally constructed. Nearly 100 people attended including key leaders, associates, design/construction team members, and community members. The ceremony included multiple speakers sharing personal stories, excitement for the upcoming projects, and a blessing for the construction workers.

Projects underway total $42 million and include:

  • an addition of 24 patient rooms and improvements to the hospital’s patient tower
  • a renovation and expansion of the Ministry Medical Office Building
  • the addition of a comprehensive cancer center
  • a hyperbaric oxygen multi-chamber

The patient room additions will be located at the south end of the existing patient tower. The project will add six additional patient rooms to each floor and provide a redesign of the existing “core space” on each floor used by patient care staff. The project will total about 18,500 square feet of new space, 40,000 square feet of remodels, and will also expand the capacity of the intensive/critical care unit.

When complete, Ministry Saint Clare’s will expand its inpatient capacity from 99 to 131 beds. It also provides a significant addition to Ministry Medical Group’s Weston Clinic and new space for clinical services offered in outpatient settings. The projects are part of Ascension Wisconsin’s aggressive strategy to create a clinically integrated system of care along the I-39/Highway 51 Corridor and will fuel future growth. Targeted completion is early 2018.
