Hamilton Partners and Mortenson Construction Break Ground on Industrial Warehouse within Utah’s Inland Port
New facility represents Salt Lake City’s continued growth, marks Inland Logistics’ market entry
Inland Logistics Groundbreaking

Hamilton Partners, Inc. along with Mortenson Construction (top-20 U.S. builder Mortenson) and Bow River Capital, today announced the groundbreaking on a 474,600-square-foot new industrial facility called Inland Logistics located at 8080 West 1400 North, a last-mile e-commerce warehouse and distribution center

“Inland Logistics’ entry into this market is one more sign of the advanced growth happening in the northwest quadrant of the Utah Inland Port Authority,” said Jill Flygare, chief operating officer, Utah Inland Port Authority. “We look forward to extending our partnership with Hamilton Partners and Mortenson Construction in the Inland Logistics Project as we see a bright future in freight and cargo movement and expanding rail into this region.”

The project, which is slated for completion in early 2023, is expected to bring numerous jobs to the region and will prompt additional job creation throughout the development cycle.

George Arnold, partner with Hamilton Partners, recollects, “Hamilton and Mortenson Construction were brought together through a meeting at a NAIOP Utah industry event (NAIOPOLY) wherein the opportunity was introduced. Hamilton was able to pull a team together including design, construction, and equity. Two weeks later a collaboration with Bow River Capital, Mortenson Construction and Hamilton Partners on the purchase of the site, led to this development being in this stage.”

“This project is a great example of Mortenson Construction’s design-build capabilities in the Utah market,” said Josh Caldwell, business development executive at Mortenson – Salt Lake City. “We’ve been steadily increasing our presence in Salt Lake City over the last few years and look forward to bringing our experience and full resources to bear for Inland Logistics.”

Hamilton Partners partnered with design-builder Mortenson Construction on the development of the new facility, with capital partner Bow River Capital and Ware Malcomb as design partner.

“EDCUtah loves to see a project like this break ground because it means that we are able to respond to prospective clients who have interest in Utah that we have immediate solutions to satisfy their real estate needs,” said Colby Cooley, vice president of business development, Economic Development Corporation of Utah.
