In August, we held our annual Do Something Good campaign and are proud to share that during the two-week campaign, the Denver team participated in 10 different volunteer opportunities throughout Denver and the metro area.

The annual campaign partners Mortenson offices around the country with local community organizations. One of our longest-standing partnerships is with United Way. In 2023, Mortenson matches up to $1,000 per team member for their United Way donations and up to $500 for donations to other causes. During the campaign, Mortenson offers a volunteer match for hours team members volunteer during the campaign, with up to a $500 donation to United Way per team member.

At Mortenson, we are building for the greater good - to make a positive social, economic, and environmental impact in the communities we build. ‘Serving our community is embedded in Mortenson’s culture and business approach,’ said Brian Fitzpatrick, Vice President and General Manager of our Denver office. ‘Whether we’re volunteering around our project sites or coming together for a dedicated campaign like this. I am honored to lead a team that has this much enthusiasm and commitment to living our values of Stewardship, Teamwork, and Service.’

In Denver, volunteer opportunities included participating in Women Build Week in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and working with the Gold Crown Foundation to paint and repair the Clubhouse. Team members also worked with Food Bank of the Rockies to distribute food to community members. Throughout the campaign, other volunteer opportunities included Mile High United Way, Girls Inc., Amp the Cause, Third Way Center, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, and Mile High Youth Corps. In all this year, Denver team members contributed over 340 hours of volunteer time serving nine nonprofits.
