Denver Summit FC Stadium

A purpose-built home for Denver Summit FC that elevates women’s sports, enhances community connection, and redefines fan experience in a modern, 14,000-seat open-air stadium.

The Denver Summit FC Stadium represents a bold new chapter in Colorado’s sports landscape and the continued growth of professional women’s soccer nationwide. As the Construction Manager for this transformative project, Mortenson is partnering closely with Denver Summit FC, CAA ICON, Gratacon, and Populous to deliver one of the most intimate and advanced purpose‑built women’s sports venues in the United States. Designed to elevate athlete performance, enhance fan immersion, and fuel community revitalization, the stadium will anchor the emerging Santa Fe Yards district in Denver.

With more than 300,000 square feet of new construction and seating for over 14,500 fans, the open‑air venue integrates premium suites and clubs, modern concessions, team operations spaces, and strategic canopy coverage that amplifies fan energy and improves comfort. Benchmarking against peer venues further underscores the project’s ambition: a 20.5 GSF‑per‑seat ratio that outpaces multiple MLS stadiums and sets a new bar for NWSL‑specific facilities.

The project also reflects a significant public‑private partnership that is driving broader community impact. The City of Denver is contributing $70 million for land acquisition and site preparation, while the private ownership group—led by Rob Cohen—is investing $150–$200+ million toward construction. Together, these commitments will help catalyze a new sports and entertainment district near I‑25, Santa Fe Drive, and South Broadway. The development will generate hundreds of local construction jobs through community partnerships and will support Mortenson’s ongoing workforce development initiatives.

Sustainability is central to the project’s vision. The stadium is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and incorporates environmentally responsible features that reinforce Mortenson’s commitment to stewardship and long‑term impact.

Aligned with Denver Summit FC’s mission to champion women’s athletics, the stadium and surrounding district are envisioned as a year‑round community hub—one that drives economic growth, fosters local partnerships, and provides accessible green space and amenities beyond gameday. Supported by the expertise of Populous, ME Engineers, Walter P Moore, and Martin/Martin, the design reflects the latest thinking in fan experience, premium environments, operational efficiency, and revenue optimization.

Upon completion, the Denver Summit FC Stadium will stand as a landmark for women’s sports excellence—elevating the athlete and fan experience while delivering meaningful community and environmental benefits for decades to come.

As a soccer lover and former collegiate player, being part of the team that will deliver the second purpose-built women’s stadium is a career highlight. I am proud to work for Mortenson, where investing in women has been fundamental for more than 20 years. Our alignment with team ownership, and their shared commitment to advancing women, makes me especially excited to build this stadium not only as a home for Denver Summit FC, but as a symbol of progress for our industry and our community.
