Mayo Clinic Square
Mayo Clinic Square Revitalization / MinneapolisMN
The next generation in sports, healthcare, and business

Building on the synergies of athlete development and health and wellness, Mortenson renovated the struggling Block E retail and entertainment complex into a next-generation sport, healthcare, and business destination.

Mayo Clinic Square is home to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx 107,000-square-foot practice facilities and headquarters – deemed “The Gold Standard” by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

Sharing the top two floors of the building is the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center – a 20,557 square foot treatment and rehabilitation space for athletic injuries. Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine includes state of the art sports rehabilitation equipment, acute injury treatment space, specialized imaging equipment including a GE MRI, and key staff support spaces. Mayo Clinic has teamed up with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx on this project and will share hydrotherapy tubs and other specialized rehabilitation equipment in the Timberwolves new practice home adjacent to Mayo Clinic Sports medicine.

The facility also features two basketball courts, locker rooms, weight rooms, cardio areas, MRI and x-ray rooms, hydrotherapy pools, and an indoor artificial turf area with multi-function cages for pitching, batting, and golf.

Additional office and retail space aim to increase activity in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.
