Prioritizing accessible and quality behavioral health in an underserved market.

Mortenson started construction in April 2020 on the UHS West Allis Acute Psychiatric Hospital, named Granite Hills Hospital.  The state-of-the-art behavioral hospital addresses the growing unmet need for accessible, high-quality, and advanced inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services in Southeastern Wisconsin and across the state.

The hospital is solely owned and operated by UHS (Universal Health Services) as an independent hospital open to all members of the community.  The 79,000-square-foot facility offers a wide range of treatment services for adolescents and adults, with a mission of providing outcome-focused care via evidence-based treatment modalities.  Led by expert medical professionals and a multi-disciplinary team, the hospital consists of five distinct patient units each with 24 licensed beds.  Departments and support services include admissions, administration, food services, outpatient services, activity therapy including a half-court gymnasium, secured outdoor activity areas, parking areas, and attractive landscaping.
