Brent Bergland is a 25-year veteran of Mortenson and the construction industry. Brent is the Vice President, Project Development and for more than 6 years Brent has been leading Mortenson’s Energy Storage business and implements the strategy across multiple segments and regions. Side-by-side with Minnesota’s energy leadership, Brent has been active with establishing the groundwork for energy storage in Minnesota and the greater MISO region.

Brent thrives on the complexities and challenges of exploring new markets and believes the energy storage industry has enormous potential across a wide range of applications. Brent’s experience building complex, utility-scale energy projects across the US, Canada and Australia have provided him a unique know-how in the industry.

On a more personal note, Brent is a native Minnesotan, having grown up in Maple Plain and currently resides in Saint Paul with his wife Raina and firecracker daughter, Kensley. Brent holds a BS in Construction Management from North Dakota State University.
