Hunter Nielsen

Assistant Development Project Manager | Real Estate Development

As an Assistant Development Project Manager, Hunter is responsible for supporting project leadership during the development phase to positively impact project feasibility by implementing creative design-build strategies, including market research, partner selection, scope and budget alignment and procurement strategies. Hunter is also responsible for providing guidance in the execution of development projects during the construction phase by maintaining strong investor and customer relationships and ensuring proper administration of development contracts during the construction phase.

Hunter started his career with Mortenson in the estimating group, specializing in the Minneapolis, Iowa and Dakota market sectors. Most notably, he has led the preconstruction estimating efforts for the Hyatt Hotel in Coralville, IA; Quad City Airport in Moline, IL;  Target Field Renovations in Minneapolis, MN; and the CentraCare Hospital in Paynesville, MN. From estimating, Hunter had the opportunity to transfer to the Minneapolis Operating group to provide leadership in project cost management and scope management for the Abbott Northwestern Hospital - R.M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center.

Hunter graduated from University of St. Thomas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business operations and supply chain management. Hunter is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife Ashley and their two children.
