Mortenson and CentraCare began the Paynesville journey together in 2017. We reviewed many different options for how Paynesville would provide the community with high quality, local healthcare. In 2022, we broke ground on a phased healthcare renovation and remodel project. As a hospital renovation company with experience across rural and metro Minnesota, Mortenson designed the project to cover approximately 35,000 square feet over approximately 24 months.
The project provides state-of-the-art inpatient rooms, a new emergency department, lobby, and conference center. The final phase created a new main entrance to the hospital. The project also includes a new helipad and other site improvements.
Mortenson's hospital renovation experience spans rural community hospitals like Paynesville and major metro projects like the Coon Rapids Medical Center remodel and the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
