Leadership begins with listening and empowering others. At Mortenson, we value authenticity, mentorship, and putting people first to drive innovation and success.
Listening to lead
Leadership, to me, starts with listening—really listening—to understand others and letting that understanding shape how I lead. I believe great leadership means clearly defining what success looks like, then empowering and supporting the team to achieve it. At Mortenson, leadership isn’t one-size-fits-all—it looks different for everyone, and that’s a strength. We value authenticity and recognize that there’s no single mold for what makes a great leader. Looking ahead, I see our biggest opportunity in reshaping the future of our industry by investing in the next generation of craft labor and breaking the outdated belief that hands-on work is less valuable than a college degree.
Driven by innovation
At Mortenson, we’re redefining how we deliver value by aligning our development, prefabrication, and supply chain teams to work smarter and more efficiently. I’m especially passionate about mentoring the next generation of builders and helping them grow. We start every project by understanding the deeper “why,” which shapes our approach and allows us to bring meaningful ideas to the table. With the breadth of expertise across our company, we’re never far from the right solution. To stay ahead, we must keep challenging the status quo and pushing for innovation.
Culture that leads
Our culture is rooted in putting people first—it guides every decision we make. Success starts with aligning goals across our customers, trade partners, and teams, creating a strong foundation from day one. The best customer relationships often grow into real friendships, built on trust and shared values. At the end of the day, doing the right thing isn’t just good business—it’s what lets us sleep well at night.
PERSONAL PASSIONS
Volunteering with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity is one of my favorite experiences. If I could change one thing in the world, it would be to eliminate social media. I believe we all make a difference by seeking to understand others before judging. Above all, I’m most proud of my family, who inspire me every day.
