[VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL MANAGER]
Although others may guide or influence you, your truth is derived from your life story. Leadership starts with being authentic, the genuine you.
The right people in the right places
Today’s leaders need to be flexible, patient, and agile. If recent years have taught us anything, it is that we need to embrace uncertainty and focus on solutions together. Every team is a recipe—getting the right people in the right places at the right time is the secret sauce.
Navigating any challenge
Mortenson is redefining possible in so many ways. We put challenges in front of talented people and create a safe space where all voices can be heard. When people are comfortable speaking
-up, we can reach innovative solutions together, navigating any challenge that comes our way. This goes beyond construction, and seeps into all aspects of both our customers’ businesses and the communities we serve.
Contributing to the greater good
I am guided by the principle of “we before me,” paying tribute to Mort Mortenson by always putting the needs of others in front of my own. This has been ingrained in the Mortenson culture, long before I arrived here right out of college. When we make our decisions about the success of others, we contribute to the greater good of our coworkers, customers, family, and community.
I am extremely proud of my daughters. As the father of two incredible young women, and having collaborated with many talented women in this industry, ensuring equitable access to opportunities is of utmost importance to me. I seek diverse perspectives and look to motivate others, with the goal of sparking innovative ideas that will improve both Mortenson and our customers’ businesses.
