Bricklayer Journeyman 

 

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking a Bricklayer Journeyman that will be responsible for laying block, brick, or stone to construct or repair walls, partitions and other structures.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Handle bags of sand, grout, lime, and cement 
  • Transport and distribute masonry throughout the jobsite 
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding 
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials 
  • Spread mortar for base and binder; apply mortar and set block, brick, or stone 
  • Level, align, and embed block, brick, or stone; remove excess mortar and finish seams 
  • Break block, brick, or stone to fit smaller areas; determine alignment using plumb-bob, gauge line, and level 
  • Provide leadership, display resourcefulness, and build relationships with diverse team members 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals), work independently or under broad assignments, and follow standard instructions 
  • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.

**for CA, CO, WA, MN only** The base pay range for this role is $Min - $Max per hour. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

 

**for CA, CO, WA, MN only** Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.

  • Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.  
  • Our postings are typically open a minimum of 5 days and an average of 44 days.
