PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for performing survey and mapping construction measurements. Advising team members during all stages of the construction project through direct surveys and layout support. Lead daily field survey operations and crews.

C.        Care, clean and use surveying tools and equipment

D.        Perform survey note-taking

E.         Survey existing conditions of proposed work sites

F.         Perform surveying computation and plan reading

G.        Guide new construction work through layout

H.        Verify locations of structures

I.          Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and   organizational levels

J.          All other duties as assigned

Lead team members:

•           Provide oversight of project survey operations in construction survey

•           Interface with contractors and trades to ensure accuracy of work relative to design intent

•           Manage quality control of self-performed and subcontracted work

•           Build strong cross-cultural relationships and influence others internally and externally and resolve cross-cultural conflict in a culturally appropriate way

•           Provide proactive and intentional leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site

•           Foster strong teamwork orientation and be a resource for valuing and promoting diversity

Drive business results:

•           Provide liaison between field engineers and contractors or crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specs

•           Promote the Zero Injury Safety Program

•           Coordinates with registered surveyor company in preparation for project start-up

•           Attend and participate in project meetings as required

•           Maintain relationships with customers, engineers, union representatives, subcontractors, etc.

•           Portray a positive attitude and demonstrate professional customer service skills

•           Ensure teams have the resources and support to provide far superior service

•           Create and foster a project team culture of far superior service to the customer

A. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

E. Ability to operate equipment such as: table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging and form systems

A. Minimum 3 year of related experience
