As a Innovation Technician, you will support the development and implementation of new technologies and processes through hands-on technical and/or administrative work, testing, prototyping and troubleshooting, while collaborating with cross-functional  teams to ensure successful innovation outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, Site personnel, outside suppliers) and contribute to the development of innovative solutions 

  • Conduct experiments and gather/document/analyze data in support of innovation initiatives

  • Assist in the design, development, build and testing of new technologies, equipment and processes

  • Source and develop parts and service providers to support Innovation projects

  • Build and test prototypes of new products and processes

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to innovation projects

  • Prepare, maintain and update safety, training, inspection, operation, maintenance and technical documentation

  • Prepare and schedule equipment for transport 

  • Maintain and distribute adequate spare and repair part inventory

  • Install, service and repair equipment

  • Train operators on proper equipment inspection, operation, trouble shooting and maintenance activities

  • Monitor and report equipment inspections, conditions, repairs and uptime

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains

  • Contribute to the development of best practices for innovation

  • All other duties as assigned

 

Additional Information:

  • It is likely and anticipated for Mortenson team members to participate on traveling project assignments throughout their careers. Depending upon the operating group, frequent mobility may be required

  • We are currently seeking individuals to join us in 2027

 

Project Assignment:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have previous related internship experience

  • Have a basic understanding of construction and generally accepted business practices

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative and leadership

  • Showcase a positive and professional attitude and exemplary customer service skills

  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple competing priorities

 

The base compensation range for this role is $70,200 - $99,900. This position is eligible for a potential annual bonus. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skill and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
