Solar Electrical Lead

 

SUMMARY  

Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Lead that will be responsible for safely assisting Electrical Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and work spaces. Responsible for coordinating crews, preparing, handling, and supplying materials to be used by other crafts.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •   Pull DC and MV wire  
  • Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (Drills, Crimpers, Cutters, etc.)  
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools  
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components  
  • Lift, position, and fasten objects  
  • Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and  
    regulations  
  • Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components  
  • Prepare, handle, and supply of materials and tools be used by electrical trades  
  • Repair and maintain high voltage systems  
  • Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of  
    repairs and/or installations  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment  
  • Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures  
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • All other duties as assigned  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead electrical crews  

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Minimum two years of related experience 
  • Trade or technical school certification/diploma 

     

  • Project specific/Mortenson training 
  • Current driver’s license 
  • Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish is a plus); some ability to read plans; shown emotional intelligence; ability to operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems 
  • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback 
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements 
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
