Governor Tim Walz Proclaims April 17-21 American Clean Power Week in Minnesota
ACPW 2023

Minneapolis, MN – (April 19, 2023) – Governor Tim Walz has proclaimed April 17-21, 2023, "American Clean Power Week" in Minnesota. In recognition of American Clean Power Week, Mortenson, an industry leader in renewable energy construction, requested that Governor Walz recognize the importance of clean energy in Minnesota and the role it plays in generating secure, sustainable, and reliable energy and jobs for our communities.

"We thank Governor Walz for the proclamation and for helping us declare the importance of clean energy in our nation. Wind energy, solar and battery storage support America by creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, generating billions of dollars of investment in the domestic economy, enhancing energy security all while producing affordable energy," said Jesse Canzler, Mortenson's vice president and general manager.

Minnesota is home to 5,946 megawatts of wind, solar and energy storage, ranking 10th in the nation and producing enough electricity to power two million homes. Clean energy provides approximately 8,000 jobs for Minnesotans and has provided $12 billion in total capital investment to date, $36.3 million in annual state and local tax payments and $39.5 million in lease payments to Minnesota landowners.

American Clean Power Week is sponsored by the American Clean Power Association (ACP) dedicated to advocating and supporting the ways clean energy is building a better future for families and businesses across the country.
