The CommonSpirit Family Health Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, represents a major step forward in expanding access to comprehensive healthcare in the region. Completed in December 2025, seven weeks earlier than planned, the 40,165‑square‑foot, single‑story facility brings multiple services together under one roof, creating a centralized hub for patient care. When fully staffed, the clinic will employ roughly 100 medical professionals and support more than 500 patient visits per week.
This is the first CommonSpirit (CHI) Family Health Center in Nebraska to offer full-time specialty care, making it a landmark project for both the organization and the community. Patients will have access to primary care services such as family medicine, internal medicine, and priority care, as well as an impressive array of specialty services including gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious disease, neurology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pulmonology, urology, and integrated behavioral health. To complement these offerings, the center will provide essential ancillary services such as pharmacy, X-ray, laboratory testing, and physical therapy, ensuring that patients can receive coordinated care in one location.
The construction process began with transforming approximately 300,000 square feet of former farmland into a level, graded site ready for development. From there, the team poured an estimated 80,000 cubic feet of concrete to form the building foundation, slab, sidewalks, roads, and parking areas. Inside and out, the finishes reflect a commitment to quality and durability: roughly 150,000 square feet of walls were painted, 4,000 square feet of curtain wall systems and windows were installed, and more than 200 swinging and sliding doors were fitted throughout the facility. Beyond the building itself, the site is landscaped with trees, shrubs, and grasses across approximately 110,000 square feet, creating a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.
The CommonSpirit Family Health Center is more than a building – it's a promise to the community. By bringing together primary care, specialty care, and ancillary services in one location, this facility will transform healthcare delivery in Grand Island and surrounding areas. It stands as a testament to collaboration and the shared goal of improving lives through accessible, high-quality care.
