Everett Community College Whitehorse Hall

Whitehorse Hall serves as the academic cornerstone of Everett Community College’s campus and established a new standard for the institution’s growth and development. Located at the campus entrance, the approximately 87,500 SF facility replaces three aging buildings and provides a centralized home for the Arts and Sciences Department. Designed to support a dynamic and expanding student population, the building brings together administrative and faculty offices, advanced science laboratories, dedicated art studios, digital and traditional classrooms, collaboration spaces, and a variety of student support areas within one integrated learning environment.

The facility was thoughtfully designed to promote flexibility, collaboration, and student engagement while creating a welcoming destination for learning. A durable concrete structural frame, expansive window walls, and a high-performance rainscreen exterior system provide long-term resiliency and fill the interior with abundant natural light. Open gathering areas and adaptable learning environments encourage interaction among students, faculty, and staff, supporting a wide range of educational programs and teaching methods.

Interior finishes were intentionally simplified to create a clean, timeless backdrop that highlights student creativity and showcases artwork throughout the building. This approach reinforces the Arts and Sciences Department’s mission while fostering a sense of pride and ownership within the campus community. As Mortenson’s second GC/CM project for Everett Community College, Whitehorse Hall reflects a strong and trusted partnership focused on delivering transformative educational environments.
