Growth happens when you embrace challenges and keep moving forward, even when things feel uncertain.
Delivering excellence under pressure
One of my favorite parts of Mortenson's culture is our relentless commitment to delivering for our customers, no matter how complex the project. Sports projects are a perfect example — they're some of the most challenging work we do, with tight timelines, unique design requirements, and intense public visibility. Despite these pressures, our teams consistently find innovative ways to overcome obstacles and execute flawlessly. Whether coordinating thousands of trades on compressed schedules or adapting to last-minute design changes, we never lose sight of the customer's vision. That ability to rally together, harness complexity, and deliver an exceptional experience is what makes Mortenson so special.
Collaboration at every step
When I first started in construction, what stood out most was the complexity and collaboration required to make a project successful. I quickly learned that this industry requires much more than building — it's about planning, communication, and problem-solving together. I saw how every decision impacts safety, schedule and quality — and that teamwork is the foundation of everything we do. At Mortenson, we work closely with our partners and every team member involved in the project to ensure alignment every step of the way. This environment allows our team to create successful outcomes though any challenge.
Building through complexity
Construction is about creating something tangible and lasting — projects that shape communities, bring people together, and where generations gather to celebrate. "Let's redefine possible" is about challenging conventional limits and finding innovative ways to deliver better outcomes. I have seen this repeatedly throughout my career as our teams prevail in some of the most challenging conditions to deliver the most unique sports projects ever built. We always find ways to achieve our customers’ goals, no matter how tall the task — whether through technology, rapid problem-solving, or creative collaboration.
PERSONAL PASSIONS
Family and community have always been important values to me, and I am proud to work for a company that emphasizes this as well. What makes Mortenson special is that these truly are principles we live out every single day, both in how we treat each other and in the work we deliver to our customers. This alignment between personal values and professional mission is rare. When you can look at a completed project and know that families will create memories there, that communities will rally around it, that's when you realize construction is about so much more than buildings.

MORTENSON MOMENT
One of my favorite memories was turning over U.S. Bank Stadium early to our customer. Standing on the 50-yard line and receiving the certificate of occupancy from the city was unforgettable. It wasn't just about completing a project — it was about delivering ahead of schedule on one of the most iconic, challenging sports venues in the country.
