Creating spaces that unite communities
I've always been curious about how buildings come together. When I first started in the industry, I was amazed by the sheer scale and complexity of the projects we take on. Growing up, I never imagined I'd have the privilege of working on stadiums, arenas, and ballparks — the kinds of iconic places that bring communities together and become landmarks in the cities they serve. This sense of wonder and purpose continues to inspire my work every single day.
Building foundations of trust
To me, leadership means creating a positive environment where people feel valued and empowered to do their best work. A great leader leads by example through actions, not just words, and serves as a strong advocate for their team. It's about demonstrating the behaviors you want to see, building trust through consistency, and creating space for others to grow and excel in their roles. In construction, trust is currency. When people know they can count on you to do what you say you'll do, doors open, relationships deepen, and outcomes improve. Reliability isn't flashy, but it's the foundation of every successful project I’ve been a part of.
Precision and partnership
In design phase, one of the most common challenges we face is aligning scope with budget. At Mortenson we dive deep into the details and offer cost-saving solutions that preserve the design intent while maintaining our schedule and achieving cost objectives. It's a delicate balance that requires technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and transparent communication with our partners. Redefining what's possible, even in routine processes, can create lasting value for our organization and our customers. When we empower our teams with better tools and clearer frameworks, everyone benefits from the increased efficiency and confidence in our deliverables.

MORTENSON MOMENT
Mortenson moment Stepping onto the field at U.S. Bank Stadium during halftime of its inaugural preseason game remains one of my most cherished memories. Surrounded by the roar of the crowd and the energy of the moment, I was struck by the realization that we had built more than just a structure. We had created a home for a community — a place where people would gather for generations to celebrate, connect, and create memories together.
