A family atmosphere

My family was always in construction, so it was a natural fit and got me into the industry at a young age. That early exposure taught me that the best construction companies operate like families — everyone has a role, everyone contributes, and everyone shares both the struggles and the triumphs. At Mortenson, I've found that same spirit on a larger scale. Construction can be demanding and intense, but when you're surrounded by people who genuinely care about each other — who celebrate your successes and support you through challenges — it transforms the entire experience. On every project I strive to create an environment where trust is the foundation. This ensures people look out for one another, we're all invested in each other's growth and wellbeing, and we’re supporting each other to deliver something extraordinary.

Creating unforgettable moments

Every time we open a new sports venue, nothing beats opening day. There's an electric energy that fills the air when thousands of fans stream through the doors for the first time, taking in the space we've spent years planning and building. Standing there, watching fans find their seats, seeing the look of wonder on people's faces as they experience the venue for the first time — it's a feeling that never gets old. These places are more than buildings; they're gathering places where communities will create memories for generations. I love what I do, and that passion stems from knowing our work has real, lasting impact. Sports venues become landmarks, sources of pride, and spaces where people come together to celebrate, cheer and connect.

Pushing the limits

"Let's redefine possible" means pushing the limits on every project and continuously improving. At Mortenson we aren’t satisfied with "this is how we've always done it." The construction industry is evolving rapidly, and staying ahead requires a commitment to innovation and a willingness to challenge conventional approaches. The key is approaching every challenge with the mindset that there's always a better way. Whether it's adopting new technologies like 4D planning and scheduling, refining our processes, or finding creative solutions to unexpected problems, we're constantly pushing ourselves to deliver better outcomes for our customers. When you combine that drive for continuous improvement with a team that operates like a family, there's no limit to what we can achieve together.

PERSONAL PASSIONS

I believe that we can all learn something from everyone. Listening to those around you with different perspectives and experiences allows us to find better solutions together. At work this means the project engineer, the superintendent, the trade partner in the field — they all have insights that can make you better at what you do. Stay curious, stay humble, and never stop learning.

MORTENSON MOMENT
Mortenson's ability to innovate continually impresses me. The use of 4D planning and scheduling is one example. This technology has transformed how we approach complex projects, allowing us to visualize construction sequences, identify potential conflicts before they happen, and coordinate thousands of activities with precision.
