Turning Collective Effort Into Measurable Impact
For 17 years, Team Mortenson has participated in Bike MS: MS 150 Minnesota with a clear goal: advance progress toward a cure and support those living with multiple sclerosis.
This year’s results reflect that sustained commitment. By raising $215,000, the team is helping fund research, expand services, and strengthen support systems for individuals and families navigating MS.
“With more than 60 riders and $215,000 raised, it shows what’s possible when a team commits to something bigger than itself,” said team co-captain Kyle Wimmer. That level of participation brings together team members and their families, trade partners, customers, and community members, expanding the team’s reach and amplifying its overall impact.
“All you have to do is ask, and people show up ready to help,” said team co-captain Tom Schoeberl. “It’s powerful to see how willing people are to contribute to something bigger than themselves.”
A Long-Term Commitment to Progress
Seventeen years of participation represents more than tradition; it reflects a sustained investment in meaningful change.
Over that time, Team Mortenson has contributed more than $1.2 million to the National MS Society through fundraising and sponsorship support.
Each year, Team Mortenson continues to build on its momentum; growing participation, increasing funds raised, and expanding awareness for the MS community. That consistency continues to drive measurable progress in advancing the National MS Society’s mission.
Driven by Personal Connection
Behind the numbers are individuals with personal connections to MS. For many participants, involvement is rooted in lived experience whether their own or that of family and friends.
“Working in an environment where MS is met with understanding and support has been incredibly empowering,” said Mortenson team member Elizabeth Carlson. “The team’s participation reflects a genuine commitment to people and community.”
For some, that connection is deeply personal and recent.
When Mortenson team member Tiffany Boston reached out to get involved, her reason was clear.
“I was recently diagnosed with MS, and I wanted to show that everyone brings their own reason for engaging, and mine is because I believe there will be a cure,” Boston said. “I’ve seen this many times in my 3.5 years at Mortenson: people show up with integrity. Participation in the MS 150 is another testament to that. No matter what reason people bring, they show up with the intention that what matters most is the care you have for others.”
Boston emphasized that the team’s impact goes beyond those riding.
“Our participation shows that no matter who you are, whether you can cycle many miles or no miles, you are still part of the success of the team.”
That shared purpose turns individual motivation into collective impact, fueling both fundraising success and long-term engagement, while strengthening a Mortenson community where everyone belongs and can contribute.
Every Contribution Moves the Mission Forward
From seasoned riders to first-time participants, every contribution plays a role. Some ride all 150 miles, while others support through fundraising, volunteering, or advocacy.
Together, those efforts add up creating meaningful outcomes for the MS community and reinforcing what’s possible when people come together around a shared goal.
